Background:
The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives. The Training Assistant will work under the Extra-Budgetary Project of “Stabilisation of Tajikistan’s southern border region with Afghanistan”.
Please note that this is an extra-budgetary post and initial appointment will be for one year. Further extension of the post is subject to availability of extra-budgetary funds.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the National Training Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
- Supporting the National Training Officer in developing and translating customized training courses and related training materials for the Tajik Border Troops;
- Supporting the National Training Officer in organizing all aspects of project training courses, particularly administrative, travel and financial arrangements;
- Assisting in translation during course delivery as required;
- Working closely with project driver and POiD Fund Administration Unit to ensure all course materials and equipment are prepared and delivered to training sites in a timely manner;
- Maintaining and servicing training equipment;
- Supporting drafting of inputs to POiD and donor activity reporting;
- Performing any other tasks as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:
- Completed secondary education;
- A minimum of five years of work experience in administration, translation/interpretation or education is required. Support to training delivery is highly desirable;
- Excellent communication skills and flexibility is desirable;
- Experience of working with an international organization or international non-governmental organization is desirable;
- Computer literacy, with practical experience using Microsoft Office applications is essential;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Russian and Tajik;
- Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
Remuneration Package:
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 892.75 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.

Please be aware that OSCE appointments are subject to medical clearance.
The mandatory retirement age at the OSCE is 65 years for contracted positions at the general service, professional and director level. The Organization shall apply an age limit of 62 years at the time of appointment as the incumbent selected is normally expected to carry out the contractual obligation of two years.
